Dr. Engler is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 30 years of experience as a private practitioner and the founder of Psychological Services.  Dr. Engler provides individual, family, and couples counseling and psychotherapy to outpatient clients with a broad range of clinical issues. He performs psychological testing, including disability and fitness for duty evaluations, and currently has contracts with the City of Omaha Police and Fire Departments.  Dr. Engler also has experience as a consultant and gatekeeper for managed care organizations.

Dr. Mathisen is a psychologist licensed in the State of Nebraska. He has been practicing with Psychological Services since 1999. His practice includes counseling and psychotherapy with clients ranging in age from pre-school to late adulthood.  Treatment modalities include play therapy, brief dynamic therapy, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.  Specialty areas include physical and sexual abuse survivors, substance abuse, ADHD, PTSD, conduct disorder, psychosis, and family therapy.  Dr. Mathisen performs psychological evaluations to assess both gifted and congnitively challenged children and parenting fitness. He also conducts court ordered evaluations for juveniles, adults, and child custody cases. Dr. Mathisen is contracted for psychological services at the Douglas County Youth Center where he provides crisis intervention services with youth at this facility.

Dr. Sedlacek is a clinical psychologist licensed in Nebraska since 1971. She was first associated with Psychological Services in 1980. She is trained and experienced in individual psychotherapy and psychological evaluations with adults (18 years and older) including senior citizens who reside in assisted living/extended care settings. She was affiliated with Richard Young Hospital for over 30 years first as Director of Psychological Services and later as a consultant and as a contract psychologist. She served as the outpatient psychologist for Eppley Treatment Center for 10 years. She has worked in university counseling centers. She has experience as a mental health adviser and gatekeeper in managed care organizations. She sees individuals with a variety of adjustment and mental health concerns with a special focus on women's issues throughout their stages of life.

Dr. Blake first opened a private practice in 1995 and joined Psychological Services in June, 2000. Previous positions include supervising psychologist of a community mental health center and clinical director of a private psychiatric practice. Dr. Blake's clinical interests include attachment and bonding, child and adolescent behavior, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress, and women's issues. Listed in the National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology, Dr. Blake has served as state coordinator for the American Psychological Association Disaster Response Network and clinical director of a regional Critical Incident Stress Debriefing team. She served as consultant to Family Service Agency and Child Saving Institute. Dr. Blake provides individual, family and couples therapy for all ages and a wide variety of clinical isuses, and conducts workshops on such real-life topics as communicating with adolescents and coping with life's transitions.

Dr. Egnoski is a clinical psychologist licensed in both Nebraska and Iowa. He has more than 40 years of experience. He has been in private practice since 1974. He performs psychological evaluations - for example; personality and intelligence testing - and client centered individual psychotherapy. He became associated with Psychological Services in 1994. Prior to joining Psychological Services he was the Chief Psychologist at Glenwood State Hospital and Director of Psychological Services for Educational Service Unit #3.



Amy T. Corey, Ph.D.

Dr. Corey is a licensed psychologist in the state of Nebraska. She joined Psychological Services in 2003. Her previous employment consisted of working as a staff psychologist at various college and university counseling centers, most recently at Creighton University. Dr. Corey provides individual therapy for older adolescents and adults for a wide variety of clinical issues such as depression, anxiety, stress management, eating disorders, self-esteem and relationship difficulties. She also conducts learning disability and ADHD evaluations for children, college students and adults. In addition to doing therapy and evaluations, Dr. Corey provides consultative services for Catholic Charities, Iowa and Nebraska Disability Determinations.

Dr. Merkley is a psychologist licensed in the state of Nebraska and has been associated with Psychological Services since 2003. She accepts a wide range of referrals for the treatment of older adolescents and adults. Common treatment issues include anxiety, depression, personality problems, anger management, traumatic stress, and relationship problems. Dr. Merkley's focus is providing practical and therapeutically sound strategies for symptom relief and behavioral change. She also conducts psychological testing and evaluations in the area of clinical and personality functioning. She provides consultative services to Iowa and Nebraska Disability Determination Service Bureaus. In addition to therapy and evaluations, Dr. Merkley is available for community/workplace presentations on topics related to mental health and general life skills issues.

Mary Ann Strider, Ph.D.

Dr. Strider has an undergraduate degree in biochemistry, a masters in Industrial Psychology a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and internship and postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Strider was on the UNMC faculty prior to private practice in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dr. Strider focuses on assessment and consultation for persons from 6 years of age through the geriatric years. Dr. Strider has a special interest in health psychology.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Stephanie Kutler as she opens her private practice of Psychiatry in the offices of Psychological Services in the Old Mill area of Omaha. Dr. Kutler, a native of Nebraska, has been in practice for 25 years, most of which were spent in Seattle, Washington. She has a broad range of experience. Currently her work focuses primarily on medication evaluation and management. In recent years she has participated as both Principal and Sub-investigator in numerous clinical trials that resulted in medications being brought to the market. In her earlier years as a Psychiatrist she was trained in psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Throughout her career she has primarily treated adults. While recently working at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, her work expanded to include adolescents and children. Dr. Kutler is now accepting adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients for evaluation and treatment. Health care providers are invited to call with questions.
